Left his native Germany at the age of 8, and after a period spent moving around the world, arrived in Hakodate. Receiving a Steiner education from a young age was a one of the sources of his inspiration to become an artist. Always wanting to have mercy to the less strong and the disadvantaged, he railed against negative aspects of society, and so made artworks that transcended these limitations through imagination and creativity. Multi-talented in seven languages including Esperanto, he loved inspiring fun in children. Although York Christ sadly passed away in a freak accident last May, we are receiving help from his friends so that his art can be staged at WMDF. We hope he will appreciate from above.
