Art floating in the park? ! Scan the code for instant experience!

An innovative art collective with a penchant for creating original Augmented Reality (AR) designs, this talented trio harnesses the power of imagination to transform reality. They craft interactive experiences and support diverse art events with cutting-edge AR creations.

Founded by three dreamers who believe in the boundless freedom of imagination, this collective brings a novel and high-tech approach to the world of art. Following a successful virtual collaboration with WMDF during our 24-hour online show in 2021, they return to showcase their AR designs at the festival’s newest additions: the “Hub” stage in the center of the park and the “Jewel Box” red-brick warehouse. Bring your phone and look forward to exploring, interacting, and capturing some unforgettable festival moments.

Rereading what is in front of us through field research

memu earth lab” prototypes new forms of experimental infrastructure for various kinds of grounded research. A laboratory affiliated with The University of Tokyo, they draw inspiration from their Memu Open Research Campus, lying in the southeast of the Tokachi Plain.

With a focus on grounding research in local contexts and everyday practices, they create enriching experiences, foster new approaches and insights, and ultimately aim to reach new definitions of research and learning. Working in various mediums, they have developed a repository of resources for reinterpreting Memu and its surroundings. WMDF is delighted to showcase their reflective experiences in our first installation in the Chara red-brick warehouse, a new addition to the Motomachi Park festival layout in 2024.
