Originating from Kyoto, Rikuo made his major debut in November 1990 with the mini-album “The Truth” released by MMG. With soulful vocals, extensive songwriting skills, and a groovy piano style influenced by New Orleans piano, rock & roll, and blues, he quickly garnered attention.

In the late 1990s, Rikuo transitioned to indie music. His funky live performances, honed by over 120 tours annually, have brought him enthusiastic support across generations and genres, earning him the moniker “Rolling Piano Man”.

A steady output of high-quality work has solidified his reputation as a solo artist and singer-songwriter. In 2016, he founded his own label, Hello Records, which releases vinyl records alongside CDs. Rikuo’s dedication to his craft and dynamic collaborations continue to influence and energise the music scene.

AGE is a world-traveling musician who spent five years performing across 11 countries, fusing global sounds into a unique instrumental style centered around the didgeridoo, the world’s oldest wind instrument, and the handpan, one of the newest percussive inventions.

His performances blend Japanese melody, rhythm, and spirit with musical elements from around the globe, offering original compositions alongside traditional tunes. With the goal of expressing the soul of Japan through sound, AGE continues to bring audiences on a musical journey that connects the ancient and the modern.

AGE is an official artist for Sonobe Handpan (2024), a major Japanese handpan maker, and the 2011 Kansai Didgeridoo Battle champion. His work was also selected for the official soundtrack of the “Kurage Pavilion” at Expo 2025 Osaka.
